About
Chesed Philly's Tomchei Shabbos Project
A little help can change everything.
Our Mission
Chesed Philly was founded in the summer of 2024 to connect the Greater Philadelphia Orthodox communities through Chesed by launching and encouraging new chesed initiatives.
Our flagship Tomchei Shabbos project provides weekly food deliveries with the groceries a family needs for Shabbos and Yom Tov to financially vulnerable households in the Greater Philadelphia Area.
We are a 501(c)(3) organization. Our Tax ID is 35-2861084.

To the Greater Philadelphia Community
As the Rambam writes:
וכל ישראל והנלווים עליהם כאחים הם שנאמר (דברים י"ד ז') בנים אתם לה' אלקיכם אם לא ירחם האח על אחיו מי ירחם עליו.
The entire Jewish people and all those who attach themselves to them are as brothers, as it says: [Devarim 14:1] “You are children unto G-d your L-rd.” And if a brother will not show mercy to a brother, who will show mercy to him?
Chesed Philly is a phenomenal organization that is leading the call to ensure that members in our community are able to make Shabbos and Yom Tov in a respectful and dignified way.
We the undersigned strongly encourage your support to this vital organization, and we bless all of its donors with tremendous Brocha and Hatzlocha. As the Rambam writes:
לעולם אין אדם מעני מן הצדקה ואין דבר רע ולא היזק מתגלגל בשביל הצדקה שנאמר והיה מעשה הצדקה שלום. כל המרחם מרחמין עליו שנאמר ונתן לך רחמים ורחמך והרבך.
A person will never become impoverished from giving charity. No harm nor damage will ever be caused because of charity, as [Yishiah 32:17] states: “And the deed of charity is peace.” Everyone who is merciful evokes mercy from others, as [Devarim 13:18] states: “And He shall grant you mercy and shower mercy upon you and multiply you.”
